About Me

This may seem strange, since I spent 15 years as a Stay at Home Mom, but I never planned on being at home.

Here's my story...

I was an Emerging Markets Trader and had a prestigious job that I really loved- the responsibility, the money, the collection of beautiful shoes under my desk.... everything!

I was in my 20s handling a $100,000,000 daily cash flow for 2 branches in 2 different countries. I thought that was pretty darn cool!

Then overnight - all 274 branches of my bank in 4 different countries closed. Devastating!

I found another job quickly and soon after that, they moved my position out of the country. Already pregnant, I took a few months off, with FULL INTENTION of returning to the workforce.

Well… 15 years later!!!! Funny how time flies…

As you know, YOU change when the baby is born. I found another banking job, put the baby in daycare and I was miserable. There was a lot of crying. Ok, all of the crying was mine. But still, a lot of crying. Fast forward 15 years…

Eleven years ago, I returned to the workforce and have successfully coached over 1,000 women to restore their value, decode the current job market, and confidently find meaningful employment. My credentials include successfully coaching women to return to the workforce for Dress for Success Worldwide, The Queens Borough Public Library, The Consortium for Workers Educations, The New York City Department of Education, The New York State Department of Labor, private businesses and non-profit organizations.

I am a highly accomplished Career Coach, former stay at home mom and the founder of Cindy Lish, Thoreau Coaching by Cindy LLC where I facilitate signature programs to empower women with the confidence, tools and land their dream job and have clients across the entire United States.

I have been recognized by LinkedIn as a Top Career Counseling Voice, have 100s of YouTube videos and am privileged to spend every day, coaching women to achieve greatness and land amazing jobs, all while negotiating fantasitc salaries. This is all about working together, as strategic partners, so that you can be successful. You are never lost in the back of a large zoom classroom.

We want different things at different stages in our lives. I help women to discover careers that match their current WHY. I’ve worked with individuals in virtually every industry and occupation from entry level to CEO, and align my program to match your specific needs.

It is truly an honor and a privilege to be able to use my knowledge, in-depth job market insight, and compassion to empower women to believe in themselves, restore their value, and achieve their goals. I’m a New Yorker, born and bred, so that means I have a no nonsense, get things done attitude, combined with warmth, compassion, and a great sense of humor.
