LinkedIn Optimization for Transitioning Teachers
🙅♀Transitioning teachers - don't make THESE mistakes with your LinkedIn profile
🚫Don't list headline as "transitioning teacher", "teachers trying to transition into XXX" or "retired teacher"
✅You want to make yourself stand out! You are not the same as every other teacher. (and by the way, you are competing against all the other #transitioningteachers).
✅This space is a marketing opportunity for you to SHOWCASE why YOU are totally AWESOME! Use it!
🚫Don't use the "schooly" template wallpaper from LinkedIn for your background. (Does that really represent who you are? Would you wallpaper your house with it?)
✅Design a custom background on Canva, or go to Unsplash for a free, royalty free image. I am a big fan of a custom background using a meaningful quote that describes you and your values.
👩🏫 Don't use a photo of you in your classroom. You are trying to provide a visual of you in the position you are aiming to transition to.

✅Clean wall, just you, nobody else cut out of the photo, not in your car or kitchen, or a restaurant, and wear a blazer
🤩You are never hiding that you are a teacher. You should be proud that you are a teacher. Just remember to showcase your UNIQUE SELLING POINTS!
