🤗Picture this... I was already established at Dress for Success, volunteering for over a year.
There was a perfect opportunity, and I was interviewing for the position to run their job readiness boot camp program and had passed the interviews at my location.
😨The next step was interviewing with THE Executive Vice President of the Entire International Organization.
She was the highest executive under the CEO of the Organization, encompassing 150 cities across 30 countries. This was a Big Deal. And she had a reputation for being tough.
❓We went though the interview, and the final question was, "Why do you want to work for Dress for Success?" My answer was passionate, knowledgeable about the organization, and had real stories to support that. She responded with 3 words, that I will never forget:

I was originally hired to facilitate 2 cohorts. I resigned 7 years and 20 cohorts later, having achieved the highest statistics worldwide, every year for women getting jobs.
Fun fact, just many years later, while in office casually chatting with that same EVP, I asked her if she remembered what she said when she first interviewed me. It was a beautiful reminiscing moment for both of us.
She has moved on to another organization, and I am proud that she has reached out to me directly and has hired some of my clients at her new organization.
