Interview Follow-Up Check List

Interview Follow-Up Check List

The interview is over.

But it's absolutely not out of your hands. Here's what you need to do next:

✅Send a thank you email within 24 hours. This is the final lasting amazing 1st impression you want to leave the interviewer.

➡️Make it memorable. Mention something that you both connected on, so that they remember who you are.

➡️Succinctly reiterate the value you will bring to them.

➡️If there is something you forget to mention during the interview (you know, 4 seconds after the interview ends, you're thinking. "I forgot to mention ....") you can include it in the thank you email. Be concise.

➡️Mention that you are very excited about the position and are looking forward to the next steps.

✅Now wait. Follow directions. If they told you when they would reach back out to you, don't contact them until after that time.

➡️Resist the urge to be a stalker.

➡️Make yourself available for follow-up interviews.

➡️Check your emails and spam multiple times a day. It's amazing how many times important emails from outside sources wind up in spam.

➡️Respond promptly.

➡️Answer all calls, even from blocked and unlisted numbers. If it's a robo-call, you can always hang up and block the number.

✅Here is the follow-up email to send if you've been on MULTIPLE interviews with the same company and are (still) awaiting an offer:

Dear...
As you might imagine, I am super excited to join the team. Just checking in to see the status and find out if there is anything else I can provide to help the process. I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks,

❤ Cindy
