Tips for Acing your Recorded Interview

Tips for Acing your Recorded Interview

🤷‍♀️Let's face it. Nobody likes recorded interviews.

You know the ones... It's you, your computer, and no one else. Looking into the camera, and answering questions as they are thrown your way... never knowing how much time you will have.

So your answers tend to be ridiculously short, or so long you don't get to finish.😵

🔥 Here are some tips to help you ACE them!!

➡️Practice before doing the recording. 🎥 Yup. Actually, RECORD yourself, several times and WATCH (gulp) replays of your videos to see how you did. Keep practicing until you nail it.

➡️Look directly at the camera. 👀 I know it's hard but look at the camera, not yourself. That way it will look like you are talking directly to the viewer.

➡️Know answers to popular interview questions and your STORIES before you start. Like any other interview, prepare in advance. I have lots of YouTube videos all about the interview to help you.

➡️Be in a clean, clutter-free, noise-free area with good lighting, and dress professionally. Everything counts. Yes, people are actually eliminated from the process for any of these reasons. Remember, this is a reflection of YOU, your Brand, and your efforts.

➡️Research the company. 🔍 Know about the company, why you want to work there, and why you applied.

➡️Keep the job posting in mind. Everything you say should demonstrate why you are the best person for that exact position.

➡️Be comfortable giving specific, relevant examples of everything they are looking for. And you know what that is... because it's on the job posting. 😉

➡️Be able to talk about the experience on your resume and the points on the job posting with relevant examples.

➡️Have stories that show your accomplishments, where you added value for everything in your resume.📝

➡️Be prepared with a positive answer for why you looking to make a pivot.

➡️Have a salary range answer. 💸

➡️You (may) be given multiple options to redo your answers.

➡️SMILE!! Good luck! 😀
