NEVER Do This on Your Resume!
đ« Donât lie on your resume.
đ€ Obvious, right? Unfortunately not for many people.
đ Please donât create jobs that never existed or give yourself responsibilities you never had.
đą When writing numbers, use your best guesstimate. It can be hard to remember exactly (which is why itâs always a great idea to track all your metrics while you are happily and gainfully employed) but hereâs how to honestly write numbers, when you arenât 100% certain.
â
Think about it this way. If you delivered a presentation, while you may not remember exactly how many people were in the room, you certainly know if it was about 5 or about 50. If you wrote 50 on your resume, and it was really 48 or 54, that doesnât matter. You were really close.
â But if you know that it was just a few people, writing 50 is a lie.
â Once a potential employer catches you in a lie on your resume, they will question the integrity of everything you have written. Not worth the risk, to your name and your reputation.
đ€© Take effort when representing yourself, for it is a true reflection of your Personal Branding.
