The Best Way to Address Your Cover Letter

Let's face it, if you are taking the time and effort to write a cover letter, you want to be impressive and that starts with the greeting.

❌Do not write To Whom it May Concern because that's dated and old-fashioned
❌While you can write, Dear Hiring Manager, you can definitely personalize your greeting better than that!

👉Instead, try to address your cover letter to the Actual Recruiter or Hiring Manager
Here's how you can do that:

✅Sometimes their name is listed directly on the job posting, making this process easy
✅If not, a bit of research may help you to find the name of the Hiring Manager
✅First check the company website.
✅If that doesn’t provide the answer, go to LinkedIn. You can look up the name of the company and then select “people”.
✅If that still doesn't work, do an advanced LinkedIn search providing the name of the company, and select “all filters”. On the right, you can choose “current company” and then add the title “ hiring manager”.
