Why You're Not Getting an Interview...Yet!

“I thought I would at least get an interview.” Have you ever said that statement? Here’s the problem. 👀

👉 The first part of the process eliminates the MOST people.

Think about it. For most jobs, there are hundreds and sometimes thousands of applicants. Clearly, the company is not interviewing 100s of people, not even for a screening.

✅ Here’s what you can do to improve your odds:

1️⃣ Apply to recently posted jobs (same day to within a few days is the best).

2️⃣ Target your resume to the job posting (it should be obvious that you are qualified for the position).

3️⃣ Include numbers and accomplishments (never a laundry list of tasks. This is the BIGGEST mistake with resumes.).

4️⃣ Write a WOW cover letter (and not a cookie cutter template. Make it stand out).

5️⃣ Fix up your LinkedIn profile (yup, change the photo, put on the blazer, fix your wallpaper, headline, and all the things. It is your Brand, your ability to manage a project, and pay attention to details).

6️⃣ See if you have any connections (especially people that you really KNOW, that can put in a great word on your behalf).

7️⃣ Reach out to the recruiter.
