Salary is such a tricky subject. How can you figure out the right number to put on an application? Put a number that’s too high and was just a “wish” and you won’t even get the interview. “Undervalue” yourself and put a number that’s too low, and you may have shortchanged yourself from earning more. Or worse, the employer may think you aren’t capable, because you don’t know your value.
Plus, when is it really OK to talk about salary? Can you mention it at the interview? Is it acceptable to ask for more?
