OMG – Words matter! Did you know that without even realizing it, your word choice may be telling the employer that you are not the right person for the job. 

There are so many words that we use in everyday conversation that will convince the employer that you are NOT the right person for the job. Learn how to positively tell someone you don’t have a specific skill they are looking for, without using the word “NO”. Demonstrate that you have a growth mindset in your answers (employers love this!) and a desire and willingness to learn new things. Spotlight your accomplishments and experiences instead of minimizing them. Women are taught not to brag about their accomplishments, but if you don’t tell the employer what you can do, they will never know!
