Thank You Email to Land the Job

💌The thank you note to land the job.

💃Once upon a time, I bought a very meaningful gift to bring to a fancy, catered party.

⏰At the end of the event, every person received a printed "thank you note", thanking them for attending, and for their generous gift.
 
There are 3 things wrong with this:

❌Seriously? Everyone? Preprinted? Not even hand signed?
❌What about the people that didn't bring gifts?
❌They were treated the same as the people that had spent considerable time and effort (and money) selecting the perfect present for that individual.

🤔Wouldn't it be more thoughtful to personally thank the people for the actual gift they painstakingly chose for you?

💗How rewarding would it be for the gift giver to know that you appreciate them!

Back to the job interview thank you note.

✅Thank them for meeting with you, but...

🚫Don't thank the interviewer for "taking time from their busy schedule to meet with you"
🚫That implies you don't think you were worth their time
🚫Don't make it a generic thank you for telling me more about the position

✅Make the thank you note meaningful.

🌞Ths the opportunity for a final positive impression after the interview.

🤝Mention something that you CONNECTED on during the interview.

✅A talking point that was UNIQUE to you and your interview.

🧠The Hiring Manager interviews a lot of people, help them to remember who you are, and how awesome your conversation was.

🔚Conclude by mentioning that you are very interested in the position and to please let you know what the next steps are.

✅Give it a try! This really works!
