All in interviews
The. BIGGEST. Mistake. you can make with a phone interview is thinking that it's "ONLY" a phone screening, and not properly preparing.
The recruiter or hiring manager will ABSOLUTELY know (they interview people all day, every day. It will be blatantly obvious if you didn't do your homework.)๐
1. Know about the company, why you want to work there and why you applied.โ
2. Be able to talk about everything on your resume and the points on the job posting with relevant examples.๐คฉ
3. Have a positive answer for why you are looking to make a pivot.๐
4. Research the salary range in advance, and have an answer. ๐ฒ
5. Come prepared with a few intelligent questions to ask. (Oh, yeah, please don't make them something you could easily have found on their website.๐)
ALWAYS keep the job in mind. Everything you are saying is letting them know you are the best person for this SPECIFIC job. ๐ช๐คฉ
Think before you post. The employer you are hoping will hire you is reading your words. If you wouldn't say it on an interview, you shouldn't be posting it.
๐ฑThe negative comments about your boss or profession aren't going to impress someone deciding if they should hire you. If they hire you, will you write negative things about them online? It's not worth them taking a chance. There are lots of other applicants.
๐คListing all your fears, why you were fired, lack of experience, these are all the potential red flags that you would NEVER mention if you were on an interview asked your greatest weakness.
